Ministry training institute

Ministry Training Institute

The Ministry Training Institute (MTI) exists to equip those in the local church to do the work of ministry. Through MTI, we offer church-based theological education that is gospel-saturated, theologically rich, practical, and studied in community. Our hope is for participants to grow in an understanding and appreciation of the gospel, gain practical insights for ministry, and develop as leaders.

WHAT AND WHO IS IT FOR?

 1.    Theological deepening- anyone who wants to grow in an understanding of the Bible, theology, and the gospel would benefit from any of the Institute’s offerings.
2.    Leadership development- anyone who is leading or desires to lead will benefit from the Institute.
3.    Ministry Training- anyone who wants to be equipped for the work of ministry or mission (vocational or not) is encouraged to participate in the Institute. You will be particularly encouraged to take the courses and available cohorts.

1. CLASSES
These are the lowest level of commitment and work load. Classes involve self-study (2-3 hours weekly) and commitment to one  4-hour workshop class with the other participants.

Cohorts will meet for 3 hours monthly for a teaching time and discussion. Duration: Approx 8-9 months
Cost $150-$500 (Scholarships available)

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the CLASSES and COURSES offered through?
The classes and courses are offered through Crosslands Seminary which is under the leadership of the Acts29 Network. The platform we use to access these course materials is a website called Biblemesh. Though there are ways to receive credit for the courses, taking them through our institute does not earn any credits.

Do I have to follow the three year schedule?
No. The three year class and course schedule on the Crosslands website helps give you an idea of classes that will be offered in subsequent years. The classes are offered in a way that do progress well when taken in order, but it is not a requirement to do so.

How much time will the CLASSES take?
Everyone learns and works at a different pace, but on average you will spend about 4 hours weekly doing the reading and assignments. Though the assignments help enhance your learning experience, they will not be graded in any way.

If I can’t make the meeting for the CLASS, should I still sign up?
No. The meeting is an important part of the learning experience for the class. If you know you cannot attend the meeting time but still want to access the material, we encourage you to do a self-study.

What if I can’t afford it?
Please request a scholarship when you sign up. Scholarships are granted to many people who request one.

Who should take the COURSES?
Courses require a larger commitment of time and work. Because of this, you should examine your ability to attend the meetings and do the readings and assignments. However, none of the assignments are graded and the collaborative times together with others in the class allow you to benefit even if you do get behind in the course work.

Can I do a self-study?
Yes. You will not receive a discounted price on the course, and you will miss out on the benefits of collaborative learning and teaching. However, anyone can access the Crosslands material from the Biblemesh web site and purchase a course.

How can I find out more information about COHORTS?
As cohorts develop and begin, we will be providing more information for each particular cohort including topics to be covered, format, schedules, and application process.
